Ethan Allen Credit Card: APR, Financing and Terms

June 13, 2026

Furnishing a room at Ethan Allen can run into the thousands, so the Platinum Credit Card and its no-interest-if-paid-in-full offers can look appealing at the design center. But this is a financing card, not a rewards card, and the standard rate is high. Here is how the Ethan Allen Platinum Credit Card works as of June 2026.

Who issues the Ethan Allen credit card now

The Ethan Allen Platinum Credit Card is issued by Comenity Capital Bank, part of Bread Financial. This is a recent change worth flagging. If you are comparing issuers, our Comenity vs Card overview explains what to expect from a Comenity account.

The card was previously offered by TD Bank. If you held an older TD Bank version and want to make a new purchase, Ethan Allen notes you will need to apply for the new Comenity Capital Bank card. Existing Comenity cardholders do not need a new one.

A store-only financing card

The Ethan Allen Platinum card is a closed-loop card. Within the United States, you can use it at participating Ethan Allen Design Centers and on ethanallen.com, and nowhere else.

It also does not offer a rewards program. Its entire value is the promotional financing, so if you want points or cash back, this card will not deliver that. If your credit is still rebuilding, it helps to know how store cards for fair credit generally compare before you commit to a single retailer.

Purchase APR, penalty APR and fees

As of June 2026, the Ethan Allen Platinum Credit Card carries a Purchase APR of 35.99%. A variable Penalty APR of up to 39.99%, based on the Prime Rate, may apply if you pay late. To put that figure in context, the average credit card interest rate sits well below this, so understanding what APR on a credit card really costs is worth doing before you carry a balance.

There is no annual fee. A fee of $2.99 per month may apply for each mailed paper statement, which you can avoid by enrolling in paperless statements. The minimum interest charge is $3.00 in any billing period where interest is due.

If approval is a concern, the Aspire Mastercard is an easier no-deposit option that you can use anywhere Mastercard is accepted, not just at Ethan Allen.

Deferred-interest financing by purchase size

The card's promotional plans are tiered by how much you spend. As advertised for June 2026, the No Interest if Paid in Full plans include 6 months on purchases of $600 or more, 12 months on $1,200 or more, 18 months on $1,800 or more, and 24 months on $2,200 or more at participating Design Centers.

A down payment or advance payment may be required, and offers are valid for single transactions. Plan terms and minimum purchase amounts can change, so confirm the current offer with an in-store associate before buying.

How deferred interest works here

These are Deferred Interest, Payment Required plans, which is an important distinction. Interest is calculated from the purchase date at the 35.99% Purchase APR, and it is only waived if you pay the full promotional balance before the period ends.

The minimum payment is not guaranteed to clear the balance in time. If any amount remains when the promotional window closes, all of the accrued interest is added at once. The safer approach is to divide your total by the number of promotional months and pay at least that amount each month.

Credit score needed and credit reporting

Comenity does not publish an exact score requirement, but furniture financing cards are generally aimed at applicants with fair-to-good credit. Your income, existing debt and overall profile all factor into approval. If you were recently turned down elsewhere, our guide on whether you should apply for a credit card after being denied covers how long to wait.

The account and payment history are reported to the major credit bureaus. Consistent on-time payments can help build credit, while a missed payment can hurt your score and may trigger the penalty APR.

Alternatives to consider

If your goal is building credit rather than financing furniture, a card you can use everywhere is usually the better tool than a single-store account. If your score is on the lower end, it is also worth reviewing store credit cards for poor credit to see realistic options.

If you are turned down for the Ethan Allen card, the Aspire Mastercard is the closest no-deposit option. It prequalifies for up to a $1,000 limit with no security deposit, typically accepts applicants around 580+ FICO, reports to all three bureaus, and can pay up to 3% cash back.
